“A Day in the Life at Canuck Palms”

December 31st, 2018

Lunch, fence repair, fishing and packing.

Its hard to believe that today is our last full day on the island. It’s been a great time but it’s always sad when it comes to an end. I’m looking forward to flying to Nassau for a couple of days, but the Exuma trip wasn’t long enough.

We spend the morning packing and getting organized for our flight tomorrow. Wade drops by to talk about some deck boards that need to be replaced. Chase gives Wade his Christmas present….. a Team Canada ball cap and a Canuck Palms Tshirt.

Cynthia our property manager comes over for lunch. We discuss the house and the great work her and her “Sunrise Allure” team does. We get alot of comments from our guests about how clean the house is. We enjoy pasta and salad and Cynthia heads out shortly after 1pm.

I repair some of the fence boards that have fallen down, and put some new shelving in the closet. Chase helps out by rinsing off and organizing all the snorkeling gear.

We quickly pack the car and head to Emerald Bay for the rest of the day. There is a slight breeze and the sun is shining bright above the Exuma blue water. Chase takes all his fishing gear down to the creek.

I drive up the road to Bristols Liquor Store and pick up a couple more kaliks and some Sands Radlers.

Heather and I walk the beach all the way around to Sandals. The sun starts to set and Chase wants to stay and fish longer. He lands a bonefish and then a ladyfish!!

I drop Heather back at the house and come back to fish with Chase. We fish until dark then pack up and head back. The next couple of hours are spent putting things away and packing for the next day. We have dinner and finally sit down after 930.

It’s New Year’s Eve in Exuma! We enjoy a glass of wine and wait for midnight. Early day tomorrow as we catch Sky Bahamas at 930 am. Happy New Year everyone!! 😎
